at least your name, the date, your home town, and i usually include washing instructions; not everyone knows how to care for their quilt.
i make kids quilts sturdy to be used and abused and expect them to be tossed into the washer and dryer when needed. I made a pretty cool quilt one time for a special young ladie (she was 9) a couple years later the topic came up and she told me her quilt was in a box under the bed, her parents would not let her use it....when i asked why they said, "what if it gets dirty? then we would have to throw it away?" i about fell off my chair...and let them know i had thrown it into the washer and dryer before i ever gave it to her and they could wash it when ever they wanted it would be ok...one very happy 12 year old! Every since then i include laundering instructions on every quilt.
