something else you might want to consider is putting on a couple of ties. That way they can tie the quilt to the chair so that they stay covered better and the quilt doesn't slip off.

When my Mom was confined to a wheelchair, I made a lap quilt & put ties on the top sides so the quilt wouldn't slide off her, but having the flannel on the back did keep it in place pretty good. One thing I added was a pocket that was "free" of the quilt. I took a piece about 15 x 6....hemmed all the edges....and then just folded up one end & edge stitched it.....I then sewed this into the top before adding the binding...(not a good explanation but hopefully you can picture it)

That is very thoughtful of you and I'm sure she will treasure it. I agree that maybe a couple of ties attached to the quilt would be a good idea.

You gals are terrific!!! What great ideas! I have a friend in a wheelchair and these are wonderful ideas to keep in mind for a special gift. Bless you!
