if someone wants to swap -- then someone can start a new link for swapping id blocks.
i'm not going to swap my block, but i'll use it for my avatar for a while; i'll also probably use it to make myself a tote bag.

Mine would be a stone house, I raised my family in a house built in 1782, My first name means servant and I used to be a Home Ec teacher. In the corners I would appliqué ;A maple leaf, (I am a Canadian)
A fleur-de-lis (to honour my French heritage)
A golden star ( my maiden name is from Acadian ancestry)
A shamrock (my DH was a proud Irish)

My name is Rose Lee, my nickname is Lillie. Due to the fact that my 1 1/2 yr. old brother could not say Rose Lee, he would say lee lee ,so I became Lillie. To make a long story short my block could be a Rose or a Lily, maybe both inside the map of Texas, since I am a Texan.

I'm just not sure what mine could/would be. I don't even know what Lynne means.

Thank you Susan. I'm leaning heavily in the direction of a quilt. We need more input on that aspect.

Looking at the ideas for name blocks, looks as though people are going to need lots of room. say 12 or 14 inch blocks. I just did an entire quilt of pieced bat blocks. Blocks were 14". Quilt finished at king size.
Hurrah! We have quilter for an id quilt.
We have lots of ideas in one thread. Should someone start a thread for a board name block charity quilt
For those of us who would like to contribute a block to be placed in a quilt - I like the posted idea that we send $5.00 with our block to help with the finishing cost. I also am in favor of auctioning for charity. In a new quilter board name (charity) quilt thread we can decide on a goal date for blocks to be mailed to quilter, and all the other quilt details.

Can someone else start thread for a swap?

This thread can focus on our board name blocks --- and a thread to post our id blocks when finished.

your block can represent who you are, things you cherish, places you've been. anything that communicates who you are -- or what you like! perhaps your favorite quilt block pattern?

:)

I have four children - our family last name begins with T so I think of the Four Ts as my block
