Question hanging tabs or sleeves

I have a small wallhanging (about 2 x 3 feet) that I am sending as a gift to a friend. The instructions call for looped tabs on the back for hanging but was wondering what other people have had success with for hanging like a sleeve or any other options? I have absolutely no clue where or how she might want to hang it. Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and suggestions.

I would do it in the way that you would like it to hang. For wall hangings when I make sleeves, I give cafe rods with the hanging. Nothing shows and the small hardware has little nails so when removed the holes hardly show.

I make triangles in the top corners, cut a square of fabric that makes a triangle big enought for the size of stick you are using. I use a 5" and sew it in with the binding ( line up corners with the triangles so that the folded side in in towards the hanging) then use a yardstick the length of the wall hanging. Needs only one nail or picture hanger to hold it.

For smaller hangings either would work well. Which way do you like the looks of best?

I think the wall hanging tells you which one to use. I use both.

If you want to go to the extra expense, check out the special wire hangers and see if one will work for your size wallhanging. www.ackfeldwire.com
I have used dowel with the triangle corners. I have used the tabs and curtain rod too. I have also bought the small metal poles that come with a reflector(for your driveway) from the dollar store and used a hack saw to cut it to size. The metal one I sewed a little sleeve (space in the middle) on the back and ran the rod through and put a hanging string on the rod in the center space. As you can see there are many ways to tackle the task. Good luck!
