I purchased several yards of fabric from J & O Fabrics online. When I got them, the chicken prints were GREAT, but the TOT was the worst I have ever received. I was expecting high quality fabric because they charged more than what I would pay at Wal-Mart or JoAnns, but that is what I got. It looks to me like they went to one of these stores and purchased the fabric (because it has a rough texture) and then cut off enough of the selvage so that it doesn't show the brand. I bought several yards of these and I am very upset. I am debating contacting the company and complaining about getting such poor quality fabric and that the selvage has been cut to "hide" the brand.

See how the selvage is partially cut?

The great fabric I did receive. It is apparent from the feel that it is good quality.

I agree, contact the company. Most will try to make it right.

I would think that they knew the fabric was not quilt store quality and that they were misleading or else the selvages would not have been cut off.

Obviously, they will not get repeat business from me. I haven't decided if it is worth the hassle to ship it back to them and ask for a refund. I will contact them and let them know that the fabric is of poor quality and not fit for using in a quilt.

I would send it back for a refund. The money refunded is better in your pocket than their's.

I buy a lot of fabric online, and have learned over the years to stick to just a few reputable sites. Fabric.com was great when I had a problem twice with a purchase...they just told me to keep the fabric and they gave me a refund! It's worth contacting the company.

I buy fabric on line as well and have yet to be disappointed. However, I use three sites and all offer first grade fabric at discounted prices. My favorite is fabricdepot.com. They are just great about returns. Next time try them. They have awesome sales too on all types of fabric as well notions. Sorry about your bad experience.

Wow thanks for posting that. I have a list of stuff I want to purchase there. Thats making me think I might just think about not ordering. Somethings fishy about that. But yes I'd contact them. There is alot of compitition out there and thats not a good business practice. Specially when us quilters get the word out. :-D
