    Lined tote help needed

Made a tote, lined it, BUT here is the question...What or How do you keep the lining from "bubbling up"?

Made the tote. Made the lining. Attached lining to the top.
Stuffed the lining inside. I top stitched the top. (Not going to put a firm bottom in it.) Too lazy to look on line so hoping you guys can give instructions or a link for the answer

Turn the bag inside out and line up the lining with the bag corner edges and machine stitch the lining to the seam allowance of the bags corners. I am assuming it is a squared bag bottom.
You could also sew buttons on all 4 corners on the bag outside for the purse to sit on and it will allow you to hand stitch them from the inside to anchor the lining as well. Adding feet to the bottom of a bag helps to keep the bottom clean.

I always do a French seam on the bottom. Much easier.

Thanks Tartan, that is a great suggestion about the buttons; I would never have thought to do that.

Did you top stitch around the top of the bag after the lining was pushed inside?
