Little girl quilt patterns
I would like to make quilts for two little girls that share a bedroom for their twin beds. I would like to use the same fabrics but do two distinctly different patterns. Thinking a yellow brick road for one, possibly. Would love to hear some suggestions!
thank you in advance.

Hmmm. I was thinking backwards, I guess. Same pattern, but different fabrics.

I made these using the same pattern for both girls, but different borders and backings

I KNEW that if I asked this board that there would be some great ideas! The girls are only a year apart and like the same colors...purple and pink. So I like the idea of using the same fabrics so that they don't 'clash' in their shared bedroom but I want each of them to be able to look and quickly identify which quilt is theirs. Now I am off to look at patterns :-)
Brandeesmom, you selected some of the most GORGEOUS fabrics.

I like chevrons too. Also consider disappearing 9 patch log cabin. so many choices. what fabrics do you have in mind?
another thought, you could do 1/2 square triangles and just do 2 different layouts.

When I made my twin grandsons quilts I used the same pattern and different fabrics. The pattern alternated friendship stars with solid (actually tone on tone) blocks. I used green and blue. Both quilts have a mixture of green or blue stars. One quilts has blue solid blocks and borders, the other green. Looks great in the bedroom.

I think Warm Wishes would be cute. You use the same focus fabric and change the fabric for the strips.
Another great pattern is Falling Charms. Do one with the background in pink with purple charms and the other with purple background with pink charms
