:-( I'm so angry with myself at this moment. I just got a new Janome 3160 (plastic body with the stitches listed/printed on front), has a plastic case. Well I plan on using her as a travel sewing machine and back up if my Horizon goes into the shop. She sews just awesome though and I've been using her a lot in this past week and a half.

Well, I was so tired after our quilt day that on her first outing I put a scratch on her. I put her in the back of my suv and had to make a sharp turn and over she fell. :-( There is a little scratch on the case that I'm not worried about, but the outside is plastic and I rubbed one of the printed on stitches just a little off on one side. It's so minor that I didn't see it at first, but finally noticed it when I noticed some black inside the case. Purely cosmetic as she works great still - no issues I tested her out, but I'm just bummed. It's like getting a dent on a new car.

This was the big fear I had about taking out my big Horizion. It's heavy and the rolling tote they sent doesn't seem to have hardly any padding in it, which is why I wanted to get the smaller more travel friendly one.

I guess the good thing is I know better now and will pad her up and make sure she is tuck in cozy on the floor behind my seat. My husband said not to worry about it b/c it's a travel machine and things happen when you use items, but I'm still bummed. At least now I don't have to worry about that potential something happening, b/c it did now.

Anyway...thanks for letting me vent. Tell me I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Rose

I remember the first scratch I put on my first expensive machine. It was made by a pin where two pieces of fabric were pinned together. Made a very deep cut. Broke my heart. Saw it every time I used the machine. I know what you mean!!!

She should have worn a seatbelt

Try a thin flannel cover her between the machine and the cover.

My sister had a new machine and it did the same thing in her trunk. The machine quit after it fell over on it's side. It was a used machine, but it was new to her. She had to junk it and then bought a brand new one and I liked it so much that I got one just like it. I have a total of 5 machines and two are embroidery machines. At least your machine still works and that is the main thing. The plastic body on the newer machine can and do scratch easy... If you take it to class or where ever,, it might be helpful to put a blanket or some thing of such around it so it won't fall over. Have a great day, HUggies, Fay

I'm sooo sorry. I hate when that kind of stuff happens. After you calm down, perhaps you can find a way to paint the missing part of the stitch back on??? I am delighted that she still works....whew!!

I get ya, sorry about this. I bought my Bernina 440 used, it already had a patch of silver paint scraped off the top front. Almost a relief, that I won't be the one to damage a pristine machine.

My Acura had less than 500 miles on it when it was hit and run in the parking lost causing $1,200 worth of damages. Boo hoo. Having your new toys dinged up stinks.

I know... I'm going to make her a flannel jacket or put a blanket around her next time we travel. Plus no longer in the back, but right behind the seat on the floor. Not as much room to move. Just sitting around beating myself up.
