I recently read about sewing without pins and ironing the pieces together. Could someone please enlighten me.

Starched fabric clings well together, I would still pin the crotical intersections though :D:D:D

Use Elmer's glue and then iron it to dry. It washes out when washed. (Please correct me if I am wrong here, anyone)

I dont pin when I sew. I just nestle fabrics then sew and I keep getting great points.

I don't pin while sewing pieces together. But if I have points to line up I will sew about an inch across the point to make sure it is lined up then sew it half one way then flip it over and sew the other half. I found that this way was easier when lining points up.

Sometimes I pin and sometimes I don't pin it depends on what I am doing.

I don't know about using Elmer's Glue (sounds messy to use), but glue sticks work very well and the glue washes out. I used glue sticks when making a series of 8" hummingbirds, each with 15 to 25 pieces. It made the whole thing possible. Sierra.

I can't seem to get my seams to match well without a lot of pinning. In fact, even when I pin I get the odd bad matchup. I can't seem to make myself stitch over glue though. Is it really ok to do that?

I am a pinner and a gluer....things get pretty rough if I don't!

I only pin if I absolutely have to. Also, I use my trusty bamboo stick to help me line things up. Can't work without it.
