Default LOL averted Frixion pen disaster!

Just returned from a trip...I had taken along several blocks to be hand embroidered. They were a little rumpled from the travels, so I decided to press them before resuming my stitching. JUST as the iron hit the first block, I remembered the patterns were drawn with a Frixion pen.......oops....too late.....the unstitched design had disappeared....darn! Then I remembered reading on this board that the marks made with Frixions reappear if the pieces are exposed to cold temps......so I put my block in the freezer, and voila! The marks are a bit faded, but they are dark enough to guide my stitiching without having to remark the entire project! Necessity....the mother of invention, indeed! Live and learn.

I love Frixion pens. Staples were giving them out as free samples last year at a business expo. The nice guy gave me a case of 48 of different colors when I told him that I use them for quilting. I was going to share with my quilt buddies but they had the free samples too. We swapped colors we liked the best. Come to find out the guy told one of the quilters as soon as he got rid of the samples he could go home and he had dozens of boxes to give out. LOL

I just finished a quilt that has Redwork embroidered squares. I drew the designs with a Frixion pen, then ironed a very thin interfacing to the back of the square so that the red thread would not show through. After a few minutes in the freezer, my squares were ready for me to embroidery. I love Frixion pens!
