Default What happened to my favorite Dritz pins????

Has anyone recently purchased the yellow-tipped Dritz pins? I bought a pack from Joann Fabrics and the shaft was full of burrs! I only found about a dozen that were decent. Trying to put them through fabric was like ripping it! I took them back and got my money back, went to Walmart, purchased the same ones and suffered the same problem....
I have only gotten about 2 dozen pins out of 500!

Anyone else have this problem???

I have emailed the company and am waiting for a response.

Yes, with their other pins as well. The points aren't sharp enough to go through the fabric like they used to either. I don't see other mfg. makers' pins on the market so I don't have much choice but to buy them.

poke them in an emery bag before you try to put them in cloth. I've had the same problem but that high number! If anyone finds a better pin that you can buy in the same amount(500) let us on QB know please! I thought it was just me!!! LOL!

I quit buying the yellow headed quilters' pins. They were dull right out of the package. I buy Clover or Fons and Porter's glass head pins and the flower head pins. A pin doesn't' get a second chance from me.

clover2501-silk pins are what i use. there are only 100 in a box, but they are thin, sharp and have glass heads that don't melt. Yes, you pay more, but well worth it.

I think I would contact the Dritz Co...the pins aren't as strong as they used to be either...bend much easier...because I know that I'm not as strong as I used to be.

Some tomato pincushions have a strawberry emery on it to sharpen pins and needles
