Default color suggestions

I want to make a Lover's Knot quilt. I have 3 yards of dark green and 2 yards of beige I'd like to use I need one more medium color & one dark color fabric to go with these two fabrics. Any ideas, I really am clueless about what colors to get. I also have 2 yards of a bold yellow. My friend said no to use it as it's too overpowering.

Maybe a burgundy and a darker gold?

I've seen pictures of monochromatic color choices that I liked.

I would choose something in the burgundy family. Burgundy and green go so nicely together.

How about orange? Or would that look funny? Its hard to tell without a picture of the colors you have.

I love varying shades of green, but finding "matching" greens can be a challenge. The right shade of rusty orange might work.

I love blue and green together! I like burgundy too, like others have mentioned, but I can just picture the green and beige with blue (almost any shade) and I love it! I hope you show us what you decide :-)

How about a navy? I would take what I have to the fabric store and start laying colors together.

Can you post a picture of the fabrics? Go to your fabric store and look around at the prints, find one that really speaks to you that you love the colors of (w/o regard for the actual pattern) that has your green in it (or very close) then look at the other colors in the print (usually it has them on the selvedge) and pick from those. You can do similar w/ art work, looking at pictures of paintings online and when you find one that really speaks to you draw your color inspiration from it.
