It seems that strip piecing used to be so popular and now a lot of the same patterns are done using pieces cut with the cutting machines like the Go. Isn't strip piecing still easier and faster? Thanks.

Yes, I think strip piecing is easier -- especially if you have the "Go" strip dies...

Love strip piecing. Worked on 2 strip pieced quilts today. One lap size the other full size.

I'm to cheap (frugal?) to splurge on the GO!
For me, I use the June Taylor ruler for cutting strips. It's 12"x12" with slots every 1/2". You just run your rotary cutter down the slot for the width you want and presto !, strips! If you want more than 1 strip, just leave the ruler in place and cut every 1 1/2" or 2" or 4", whatever. Goes pretty fast. I had all the strips for my Bargello cut in about 15 minutes.
