Default Looking for Advice!

I finished this hand applique Stonehenge quilt and now need to decide on a border. I am leaning towards a dark green border with a Celtic braid on the dark green. I would use the light beige fabric for the braid. My DD suggests a lighter green but in the same colorway as the dark green for the braid! Any thoughts will be appreciated! Thanks for looking Luann

I like your DH idea. Whatever you do I am sure it will be lovely. Please post a pic when you are done.

Actually I think I prefer your idea - The darker green broken up by the beige sounds fantastic - but your daughters suggestion doesn't sound bad either. For me, it would defend on the choice of fabric.

By the way - the quilt looks great - I can not wait to see the finished quilt!

What a neat quilt! I love it. I lean towards your idea, as I think that would look really good.

I like your idea, plus I would make sure to use the 'tan' thin or sparingly as to not take away from the scene.

Beautiful art quilt!! I vote for your thought of dark green with tan Celtic braid.

Before deciding on a border I would add a thin sash of a totally not used color to set off your center...btw, what is the size of this piece?

Ditto using a thin border. Perhaps using the fabric from the stones. I wouldn't add a different color but something to separate the greens would be good. I like your idea of using the dark green as well.

Ditto on the thin border. It will be easy for the light Celtic braid to distract from the stones if you aren't really careful. It's a beautiful piece! What size is it?

The size of this quilt is 21" by 28". I decided on a medium dark brown border 3" wide. I will use the tan stonehenge fabric for the 1/4" braid. I think it will set it off nicely. If I only do Celtic braid or circles in the corners it may not over power the center. Luann
