I looked at this machine yesterday and really liked it, however I've heard a couple negatives about it.

I'd advise you to join the yahoo groups on it. The "8 series" group is more active than the "820/830" group. The Bernina Corner of the Quilt Show forums is also helpful. I have an 820, which I'm just learning to use to its fullest, hopefully. No problems, but some learning challenges. It's a MAJOR upgrade in terms of advanced sewing features and technology.
