I'm looking for a fabric that has books...or kids reading books...or something similar. I'm planning a quilt for granddaughter and wants blocks/fabrics that show her interests...and she's a big reader. Haven't had luck in quilt stores (5 or 6 so far) or online. If you know of a fabric like this, please let me know! Thanks

try a kids twoial(brian not working on spelling today) its a french type picture fabric. can get it in many different colors and scenes. if you go to marshal dry goods they might have somehting. they seem to have every fabric under the sun. I have seen fabric with books on it before. but that was a few years ago.

What about the Dick and Jane collection? Do they have a book fabric?

I checked out the Dick and Jane...no books but some fabrics with words, but too juvenile. GD is 10 going on 18!

I found books on a shelf and in a library at Joann's a few months ago. Another child who likes to read. Good luck.

[quote=craftybear]wow, thanks for the links

You're welcome... I was really looking for a panel of a bear reading to other forest animals (bunnies, racoons etc) that I got from eQuilter.com and I used for a baby quilt, but I guess it's out of print now. Plus it's really a "baby" fabric and not so great for a teenage girl.

I was also going to suggest possibly to theme the quilt around one or more of her favorite books or genres - it may be easier to find "mystery" or "science fiction" themed fabrics.
