Need suggestions on how to remove basting from fabric. Picked up the basting can instead of the spray. I have tried washing the fabric, Tried washing in both cold and hot water. Help

I was afraid of that.. I use it sparingly to adhere applique pieces and I use a pair of long tweezers to hold my piece while I spray... I have to soak the tweezers in acidtone to get the stuff off!!!

I thought basting spray washed away. well i just read it goes away in 2-5 days.

Thanks There is nothing on the can (that I can read) other than it can be washed or left in. If I find a solution I will share.

Would that be safe to use on a quilt for an infant? Will it wash out in so many washings? Maybe an alternative for infant quilts is a good idea. Anyone still use pins?

What is the brand name of the spray? You should contact the manufacturer to find out how to remove it effectively.

Just curious. You mean you sprayed basting spray on fabric instead of starch?

BRAND : TAYLOR Basting spray. Yes ,using basting on fabric instead of spray starch. Pick-up the can without looking.

I use 505 Spray and Fix for quilting and different crafts, and it always washes out after the first wash. it's $25 for the big can...smaller cans are $13, I believe. So maybe test another brand?

505 is the best spray. June Tailor basting spray seems to have more reports of problems than 505 has.

According to the FAQ, machine washing should have removed the spray unless the fabric had polyester in it. If your fabric is 100% cotton, I would call or email the company to ask them what to do.
