My nephew just requested one from me. I'm not the best at applique but I'm going to give it a heck of a try.
I would love to see your quilts or even hear your ideas!
Thank goodness he doesn't want it for Christmas!
Chances are it will be a twin (he's getting a new bed soon).
Thanks everyone!

Yeah, Roll Tide. A little lady at church makes these all the time, I will get a picture of one of hers and post it. I have some elephants that I could embroidery for you.

crkathleen,

I haven't made an Alabama quilt, but I'm going to as soon as Christmas is over. I bought a kit from "Varsity Quilts" at the Houston Quilt Show that has 4 embroidered blocks with Crimson Tide themes. Each block is about 13" x 13." Here is an example of an Ole Miss quilt I just made with a kit from the same company.

I have also purchased printed fabric with Alabama logos on it -- thinking about using it for a disappearing 9 patch. My nephew (who did NOT go to Alabama, just loves the school and football team) will be getting a Tide quilt from me in the near future. I bought the fabric at an on-line store, but I don't remember the name of it. You can google University of Alabama fabric to look for on-line stores that carry it. There are only a few types of fabric that are licensed, so all on-line stores carry the same fabrics.

I'd love to see your nephew's quilt when you finish it.

Roll Tide!

Tcharlie, I'd love to see picture of the Alabama quilts made by the church lady. Can never have too many ideas for Tide quilts.

Thanks Tcharlie,
I just might take you up on that offer!
I'm about to head to Joann's. I did see something there with the Alabama football team emblem. I think it was flannel backed tablecloth, plastic. I might get a hunk of it so I have the pattern to refer to for applique.
