Is this a traditional quilt pattern? I took a picture of it at a quilt show. It's called "Black and White" and was made by James A. Niles. I posted it on my blog with the rest of the pictures I took at the quilt show, and now a reader of my blog wants to know where she can get the pattern. I have no idea if it's a traditional pattern or if it was designed by Mr. Niles. He doesn't seem to have a website.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like a six pointed star. They put two "logs" on the end of each diamond, and trimmed to maintain that particular diamond shape. You could make that any size using a 60 degree diamond template and lots of work LOL

Contact the show organizers and tell them your story. They can get in touch with Mr Niles and give him the option of getting in touch with you.

LOL! And I see Tumbling Blocks on point, with 2 of the 3 diamonds being pieced (resulting in the the star pattern that emerges from the placement.)

I'm not sure the organizers would be able to help - the quilt show was over a year ago.

Use google to search the person's name and add the words "quilt show" or "_ _ _ (which show it was, eg Detroit) quilt show"

It might have been written up somewhere in a newpaper or quilt magazine and give you a lead on where to look.

What have you got to loose? I'm still on the mailing lists, both snail and electronic, of shows I was in two years ago. They send calls for entry and newsletters, stuff like that, every couple of months. It's certainly worth a try, isn't it?
