Could it have been my diamond log cabin star? (my avatar)
I'll bet it is!

I found a beautiful log cabin star pattern in the May 2010 issue of The Quilter magazine. This might be a free pattern at northcott.com as the quilt in the magazine was made from their fabric, and designed by Jean Ann Wright It is a beautiful pattern!
I'm betting you're thinking of a Log Cabin Lone Star. I believe I saw a picture of the quilt in the quilt gallery!
