Hi ditter - to me it looks like a Rhode Island Star http://www.quilterscache.com/R/RhodeIslandBlock.html set on point, alternating with the classic Snail Trail here called Monkey Wrench http://www.quilterscache.com/M/MonkeyWrenchBlock.html. The set in triangles which include the border stars take a little more studying to work out though! Hope this helps - it's beautiful, I saw it on the other thread and wanted to make it too!

Ditter43 is right. It is a Judy Martin pattern from her Creative Pattern Book..it is really striking. Go to her site and look at all the quilt pictures of this quilt that people have made..really inspiring.

I noticed a YAHOO group working on this quilt. I've gathered my fabrics and found some patterns to use. I don't have the book but have a 12" Snails Trail, 6" sawtooth star and 12" double sawtooth star. Mine is planned for a southwest look.
