Now that I am getting settled in the Thumb region of Michigan I am trying to find a quilt guild close to Harbor Beach. If anyone knows of one please let me know by PM. The Siamese and I are safe and very happy in our new home and even though I didn't get to bring much with me I will start building again now that my life is not so complicated. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers I had a ball driving across the country with 2 screaming Siamese. They had a ball too! Learned a lot along the way too. Never too old to learn. Still unpacking...

Welcome to the thumb! I'm quite a bit south of you.
Did you know that you can search for members by location? I put "thumb" into the search and came up with a list. I would send them each a pm and ask each one individually in case they miss this post.

Do you mean the area where Houghton and Hancock are, that stick out into Lake Superior? Never heard of 'the thumb?'

Just curious as a former Wisconsinite.

Nope. Michigan is shaped like a mitten. As a true Michigander, we all carry a map with us, so when someone asks where you went on vacation, you hold up your hand and point. For instance, the tip of you little finger is Traverese City. Look down at your right hand, palm side up. The thumb of Michigan corresponds to your thumb.
