I've been working on these stars for about a month. I think I have 60 of them made. I'm aiming to make a king size. I took a couple blocks to joanns and held an audition :) I liked the navy but i'm not sure if that would be to harsh. (it was a floral print, background was navy)

i would use either green or pink. pink if you want a more feminine look and green if you want a more neutral look.

Your blocks are really pretty. I would love to see all 60.

It would depend on the "look" you are going for as to the color for sashing. Your stars and backgrounds do not seem to have a lot of contrast, so the quilt is a very soft, subtle palate. To continue that look I would go with a soft green like in the star #2. Or maybe a pink. But the best way to decide is to lay out some fabric and then lay your blocks on top, leaving them far enough apart so that the "sashing" shows. Take the blocks with you to a quilt shop and audition fabric. They LOVE it when you come in and ask for opinions--they live for that stuff.

Oh, and let us know what fabric you decide.

I was also thinking of of setting them on point and maybe making a medallion.
I had also thought I wanted to try the fun and done with this quilt top. My sewing machine is soooo small so my sashing would be my backing also. I probably will go for the green. I plan to go to hobby lobby and see what they have on the clearance rack. haha. I need to figure out the yardage for that.
