    Are you trying for the same quilting density as the white part?

    I like Dunster's suggestion.

    I love the blues and greens together - one of my favorite color combinations.

    Do you have to quilt it? It really shows off the quilting and a nice contrast.

    If it were mine, I wouldn't put anything in the colored areas but if I were to do that, I would try a nice leaf on vine.

    Either scoop from point to point....looks like could be done continuously around that square, or just single straight line in center or the colored frame.....your focal point is the intense quilting in the negative areas....jmho

    As a contrast, I would echo inside the triangles, at least 3 lines to fill it up and then move on to another triangle. Be sure to go around all the inside edges.

    What about following the shape of the triangle making it a continuous line similar to these designs?

    I think straight lines with pebbles filling in between the straight lines would look good.
