Default Alvin cutting matt pros and cons

Does anyone have one? Are they any good? Someone is selling a few of the white with blue lines for $20 each...she has 4 and I asked if I bought all if she'd cut a deal....$40 for all. I have a few friends. THESE are used, but she said they are in great condition. Just wondering your thoughts pros and cons of this brand of matt.

I haven't used them, but I would take a chance for that price. I have a mat I use when something needs taping, or maybe a more craft like project that it could get ruined. I'd save my good mat for cutting fabric.

Sorry I can't give you any personal insight but there are a few reviews here; a couple not so good, some great, take your pick! http://www.dickblick.com/products/al...-mats/#reviews

I've been using an Alvin mat for nearly 4 years, and it's great.

Go for it. A mat could be taken to class. If you are anything like me the one I travel with always seems to deteriate quicker than the static one.
