Someone mentioned they can't find starch.Since I needed a couple cans....I looked around in Walmart. It's located in the laundry dept, beside the softeners. There were 2 brands of spray starch ...lavender,lemon etc.On bottom shelf there was a blue jug, maybe 1/2 G of liquid Sta-Flo starch.

On another thread "Household items turned quilting notions" someone posted this Spray starch recipe

1Tbsp corn starch and 1 pint cold water. Shake each time you use it.

Yes, starch left on fabrics attract bugs so we don't starch and store it.

ok thanks. I tend to start a project and finish it months (or years. lol) later so I think that wouldn't be a good option for me. Unless maybe I put it in those giant ziploc bags...

Have starched fabric that I have stored in many ways-drawers, bags, totes for years and have yet to find a bug visiting. I live in hot desert area of AZ, but moved from central NY. Had problems with bugs there with and without starch....

Yes, CoyoteQuilts, I've heard that about starch and bugs too, but it's never happened to me either.

I've never found a bug in my starched fabric either. I did find a dead mouse once. I only worry about moths eating the wool & rayon in my closet.
