Just picked up two sizes of the yo yo makers.
Wow.. it is so much easier, and they turn out perfect.
Wish I had found these a long time ago.

They are great! I have trouble that my hands go numb when I do any fine motor skill task such as sewing a yo-yo. But because I don't have to grip the fabric and the needle with these gadgets, I am able to whip yo-yos without much trouble.

I love these gadgets. A couple of hints: use quilting thread and you wont have to worry about breaking thread; i was having trouble remembering where to stop going around so I put a black mark (Sharpie) on one of the bumps and that is where I start and stop. I really like starting with squares instead of circles. When I stop pulling the yo yo into its shape, I go down with the needle and thread through the middle to the bottom, take a couple of little stitches then make a knot. I always use the yo yo with the bottom down so it doesnt make a difference to me that there are a couple of stitches there.

As part of my anniversary present from hubby which was a trip to Joann's...I got all the little yo yo makers they had except for the oval one. I couldn't see any reason that I would use that one. But I got the heart ones and the butterfly ones along with the regular yo yo makers. I can't wait to play with them on a project.

They look nice as the center of flowers. And then there are coverlets you can make with them. You can even use them as flowers.
