Hi All,

Just wanted to ask if any of you belong to the Quilters Guild UK. If you do, can you let me know what you think the benefits of being a member are please.

I have been thinking of joining, but as I am a relatively new quiler and have not made loads of fantastic quilts I don't know what I could bring to the table!

Hugs to all

I did join them a few years back but to me it seemed to be aimed at the more experienced quilter, but maybe it has changed, it may be worth asking them if you could have a complimentary copy of their magazine to judge for yourself.. I actuall I find I get good patterns and help from the Mc Calls quilting magazines, and from this board of course.. Have you tried You Tube the Missouri Site on there have some fabulous videos which show you ow to do just about anything, short cuts too. Hope all goes well

Mc Calls do a number of quilt books such as easy quilts, usually out every two months..it may be worth looking out for them, they are not normally available in Smiths but independant newsagents. about £4 each. They have much more interesting quilts than I have ever found in any British magazine and I think I have seen most of them over the last few years. If you cannot find them send me a private message with your address and I will send you one.

Visit a meeting and then make the decision. A guild is usually just what one makes it. Most guilds have all levels of experience. Don't let those who are "blue ribbon" winner intimate you and prevent you from enjoying the programs they offer. You can always withdraw if it doesn't meet your needs. You just might find a quilting buddy there. I belong to a local guild and go when the programs interest me and partipate in projects when I have the time.
