We seem to be getting more and more Aussies on board. How many from different states do we have? I see there are a few from Ipswich. I was born and grew up there but have been a Brisbanite for the last 55 years.

Another question - for the Victorians. I will be in Melbourne in a month's time. Are there any quilt shops I should be visiting. As I will be staying in Docklands I need to be able to reach them by public transport.

Hi Caer Urfa, I am in Melbourne. There are a few good shops near town.
http://www.designerstitch.com.au/fabric-shops/vic.html
Most of these are near public transport.
http://www.designerstitch.com.au/fabric-shops/vic.html
This shop is fabulous - and they hold regular workshops.
Also go to Brunswick St, Rose St Markets, Abbotsford Convent Shirt and Skirt Markets!
http://www.harvesttextiles.com.au/home.html
And there is a place that does hand dyed embroidery cottons - will try to find it for you.
PM me if you want a shopping companion. . . .
and also, there is the
http://melbournemodernquiltguild.com/
if you want to sit and sew, or post a request for sources, or check out what is already posted there.
Cheers
Rainy
PS There is a get together planned for this saturday in Melbourne - the 16th of April.
I will be at the Shrine on Anzac Day, which is in the city.

Thanks, that is great information. I will be in Melbourne from 8 to 14 May. Could have timed it better and included the craft fair but I did a bit of damage to the bank balance here at the Brisbane one a couple of weeks ago. I'll see how I go, might take you up on the shopping buddy.

I've always wanted to go to Floriade and have been thinking of trying for it this year so could be there yet.

That would be fun! :D I went last year with one of the quilting board members from the States, it would be fun to do it again.
