Good for you, for not wanting to abandon ship after the work you have done so far on this. You've received some great suggestions here.

Great quilts as WIP sometimes go downhill when bordered wrong.
Ugly quilts often can come together with the right borders!

Please do show us your WIP ... and you'll get lots of ideas to help you continue on.

Sorry for the long delay, here is a bad picture of the quilt top so far, sorry my camera is pretty old.

Thanks!

Hey Afton! It looks pretty good from here (even in the dark)!

Only thing I'm seeing "different" is the use of value - lights don't feel light enough, and the darks are the same - sort of like the quilt is all medium values.

Not to worry - It will still turn out pretty good. I did a charity quilt with the same issues on value and I had the same feeling about it, but at a longer distance than right in front of it, it suddenly started looking a lot better. I wound up showing it at our local quilt show this May 1 to pretty good acclaim. So Don't FUSS - just finish it, then step back (WAY back) and take another look at it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the results.

See what I mean about contrast?

Thanks for posting ... I think your fears are unwarranted. Are you becoming disappointed with it's "scrappy" look, which is what that pattern is all about ... because you are judging it against a "matchy-matchy" pattern? I know I've done that. It takes a shift in mindset to like scrappy looks.

And too, once you have the quilt together, frame it up with a border(s) you'll be surprised how well it can all come together.

keep going. you will probably be very pleasantly surprised by the result. :-)
I agree and in the end you may find that you like it as well!!
