My DS and DDIL will be travelling to Las Vegas in the beginning of April and my DDIL has said that she wants to bring me some stuff back as I am watching their 2 boys while they are gone. I told her to check out the LQS. Anyone have any suggestions on where she should go? My son says he can always buy another suitcase to bring back stuff for me. Also is there a Joann's or other store where they can get me batting as it is very expensive here or is it reasonable at the LQS? Any help would be appreciated.

I can't help with specifics, but I "Googled" quilt shops, Las Vegas, Nevada - and there quite a few. Maybe you could look at those with online shops & get some ideas.

I saw that there are lots there so I was hoping to get ideas on the better ones to go to and also that are not too far from the strip as that is where they are staying. They might be renting a car but I am not sure of that yet. This is the first time either of them have been there and my DDIL says she is not into the gambling and wants to do some shopping while she is there.

I always go to the Fabric Boutique when I go to Las Vegas. The store is just huge and it's not far from the strip.

go to Quiltique on Stephanie st. in Henderson (just a little ways from Las Vegas itself). they have lots of beautiful fabrics and the staff is very helpful. the Joanns fabric store is on Marks st. not too far from Quiltique.

DEFINITELY come visit me at Quiltique!! We have over 5000 bolts of fabric to choose from. If you have a special color or theme just send me an email at [email protected] "karen j" in the subject line.

They can also ask for me at the shop.

Welcome to Las vegas. We have several good quilt stores, plus as mentioned earlier a company that picks you up at your hotel and takes you on a tour of all the quilt shops. Easy way to see LQS with out trying to find your way in a strange town.
I'm listing the shops ,hope I do not laeve any out along with street name. I do not have exact add right now
Not in any order: The Christmas Goose, on Durango, Amelias Sew Little Tome on Ft. Apache, Fabric Boutique on W. Charleston, Quiltique on Stephanie Street in Henderson, not that far out. Fiddlesticks in Boulder City, a must if you take a trip out to the dAM.
Chains: HobbyLobby on Stephanie in Henderson( about 1 mile from Quiltique)2 Joannes, one in Henderson and one on N. Rainbow & Lake Mead. 2 Hancocks one south of 515 and one on Lake Mead & DecATUR. There is also a new one that just opened in dopwntown Henderson, but I do not know the name. Several listed on the net that are nowhere to be found.
If they go to Fabric Boutique have them ask about the special Las Vegas fabric.

Lots of fun stuff to do here. April is usually not to hot yet to enjoy scenery and pool.

Quiltingly,
CJR

Thanks for all the great information. I can give it to them and they can shop for me. They think they are getting a great holiday but little do they know that I will be the winner with them buying me stuff to add to my stash. My son will definitely have to buy another suitcase. I can hardly wait until they get back and I think I am more excited than they are.

I live an hour outside of Vegas and the only shop I care for is The Fabric Boutique.

Went to Quiltique about a month ago and noticed the prices were $2-$3.00 higher then Fabric Boutique (FB= $8.50-$10.50 yd). Wasn't worth the extra 20 minutes of added drive time and was almost afraid to touch anything! Sorry, Redhawk!
