Digitizing is creating a design to be able to put into your embroidery machine to embroidery!

Do you have a picture of the block that you want to copy and what program are you using?

Just an embellished typical crazy quilt block - 6 x 6 or even 5 x 5, and I use 4DExtra or I DO have EM2. Do you have either of those 2 software?

I use pedsign 7 but as far as I know they are all similar, you are best to start with a picture of what you want it to look for even if you have to draw it or color it in paint, and go from there, on some you can let the program do most of the work but I get better results if I do it manually.

Have you ever designed that type of block? First - a size needs to be decided on - lets say 5 x 5. Then the layout. It is a foundation pattern. One section needs to be attached with the second. Then, the decorative stitching on top of the seam. The 3rd fabric needs to be added, with the decorative stitching on the seam. At that point, further embellishments could be added or, wait until all the block is finished. I would have to "play" with the software - there is no definite pattern as of yet - I just need to know HOW to "pre-stitch" and continue with the PP - thanks

you ca do it straight on to the tear away, you would do a die line for the fabric, lay the fabric down, do the next, I would do the first decorative stitch at that time, then add the next die line and the next fabric. there are a few things that you can do to get a good lookin block, though you would want more than one block, you need to be familiar with your software though to do it,

I have not done this kind of block but I have been digitizing for about 15 years.
