Hi: :D When I bought my Brother BC1000, which has a drop feed dog feature, I was able to drop the feed dog, but could not get it back up. I tried everything I could think of to no avail. I thought I had a defective machine so I returned it for another BC1000 and had the same problem. I discussed this problem with my daughter, who is a long-time fabulous sewer and she suggested that after I flip the switch to bring the feed dog back up that I also turn the large dial on the right-hand side of the machine (you know, the one that will bring your needle up and down). Well, lo and behold it worked. She said she found this out by accident on one of her machines. There are some things your manuals just don't tell you and this is one of them. Hope this helps resolve your problem. :P :P

Diamonds~
My oldest brother is an LS-1520. It came with a little white/cream-colored plastic piece that fits over the feed dogs. Notice around the feed dogs, you will see some small holes?? The plate has little plastic "feet" that fit right into these holes.

Marilyn, the dogs were probably in the down position when you flipped the switch so they didn't actually move, of course I never had that problem, it was someone else, I just heard about it! bla bla bla I also have some oceanfront property in AZ!

:XD: :XD:  Many thanks to all the suggestions regarding my feed dog problem. I actually found out from my daughter that I can get them back up if turn the switch to up I must also physically turn the dial so that they kick back in correctly.

:) I forgot to mention that there was no information covering the feed dog problem in my instruction book. I guess the books don't tell you everything. Silly me!
