Default machine quilting

I have a Pfaff Performance2056 and use it to machine quilt. So, I am quilting a twin quilt and will be going along fine and then a HUGE skip stich, I am not going to fast or jerking the quilt on the curveand then it will go along fine for another 5 minutes. At the end of each pass I check everything I have changed the needle and rethreaded

Did you change the needle size, too? Sometimes that helps. My 2170 will sometimes do the same. The 2056 is a nice machine.

Try a different type of needle if different size doesn't work. I use everything from embroidery to Jeans, depends on the fabric, batting etc which type works for the project. I find it's usually it's the needle if you have skipped stitches. Just got back from get together quilting teen quilts today, I have the 2056 also and was doing free motion and used a sharp needle today with no problems, poly batting.
Good luck. Laurie
