I find Quick Quilts and Quiltmaker to be great magazines for beginners.

I agree. I've let all subscriptions but these lapse. I quilt for charity and find the quilts in other magazines too time and money consuming.

These are teriffic for beginners but don't forget as you become more knowledgeable to experiment with a more advanced magazine like Quilters Newsletter and American Quilter. Even for beginers there is loads of good information and techniques the beginers can learn from. I don't like to call them advanced they are for me a wealth of information and helps me to learn more and faster!

good quilting ahead!
peace

My local quilt shop sells outdated magazines at half price, so check yours too. Sometimes used quilting books are less expensive than a new magazine, so check your local Goodwill or other thrift store. In most magazines there will be projects of different skill levels - I like Better Homes & Gardens the best, and there's a new magazine that I think is called Modern Quilter who's first issue is coming out in October. Modern quilts tend to have fewer pieces and I think the magazine may have good projects for a beginner. You will have so much fun!!

Those two are also my favorites and have different skill levels.

Another idea is to go to the library, check out a bunch of books and magazines and find out what has ideas and articles you find interesting for you

If you are not involved with a quilt guild yet, I urge you to look for one in your community. Many of them maintain a library or have magazine/book exchanges. There are quilters there who may be willing to lend you magazines or share their copies. The resources in a quilt guild are fantastic!

I did the thing with Quilt World where they send you a free issue and then you can decide to subscribe if you like it. I haven't gotten it yet. I love to read but haven't learned all the "quilting lingo" so they need to be good for rank beginners lol!

TIA!
I heard about a Euripian magazine about sewing called Burda, I guess they have a version with quilting.
