Magic Grip Gloves
Walgreens has winter grip gloves (not real thick) that can be used for quilting for 2.99 here in Texas. They have white, blue, black. They are located near the winter hats, slippers, etc. Great bargain to replace high priced quilt gloves.

When I first started quilting, the teacher in a class I was taking said she used garden gloves with non-slip palms and fingers. I find gloves awkward and prefer to use "That Pink Stuff" you get at office supply stores.

My son works for a company that makes mattresses, and his job is to cut, shape, and construct the cardboard boxes they go in. Because the cardboard sheets can be slippery, they have grip gloves for them to use in bins of various sizes. He brought me home 5 pair of them to use for quilting. They work GREAT!!! And since they didn't cost anything, the price was right! LOL! And don't worry...he asked permission first!
