I have a dumb question - I want to make some hand towels & wash cloths. I want to sew piece of quilting cotton on one side and the "towel" fabric on the other. What type of fabric do I buy for the towel part? I want something in plain white and fairly soft. I am shopping online and don't know what to get :-(

Joanne's used to carry a plain white toweling similar to what you are asking about, but it's been years since I've looked for it.

I have seen some really cool towel blankets like this. One side quilted the other side a towel. Great for the beach. Can't wait to see pics when you are done
