I am going to depart from the majority and advise against big stitch quilting. Just on the off chance that they decide to put the baby under or on top of the quilt someday, remember those big stitches are called "toe catchers" for a reason. Babies have lost toes when twisted loose threads in clothing and blankies have cut off the circulation in a toe for an appreciable amount of time.
