i am REALLY thinking of ordering an accuquilt-go [?sp] amazon has one for 219w/one die.does anyone have one ? do you like -------no,LOVE it?am on a tight budget,but have so many healthproblems that it SOUNDS like a miracle !..............next question..........th e price of the dies.do you need a different die for each size strip,etc HELP

Yes, you need different dies for different sizes and shapes. Here is a quick search I did showing different dies and some general prices.
I do like the one for rag quilts, it looks like it precuts the raggy edges too!!!

I have seen them but wouldn't work for me since I draw my own patterns and many sizes of them. So I cut the old fashioned way. ;)

thanx for the help,but i nearly went into sticker -shock at the price of the dies !!!! do you have one?i'm afraid that i'll buy it,then not be able to afford the dies ! also wonder why the strip dies are so much more exp. than all the others ?

I know there's been alot of interest in these for some time now and you can do a search and read other opinions for this. Seems everyone likes what they have if you can justify the $$$$, I can't at this time! Good luck!

I have the Go and I love it. No more hurting shoulder or hands or miscuts. I was always getting miscuts using a rotary cutter. I can adapt any size quilt block to the dies for the Go and most of the newer quilt patterns now list what dies to use to make their blocks. Eleanor Burns new patterns are Go compatible. Accucut Facebook page if crammed full of ideas and tons of info. I buy the dies on sale at various online shops. My family likes the fact I only want dies for all gift giving occasions. Easy for them.

thank you.could you post some sites to buy dies? are they ever on sale,amazon or e-bay?does the cutter come in different sizes ? wondered because of the big diff in price.don't want to end up w/ somkething too small to use !

I have a Go! and really like it. It is worth it if you have health problems.

JoAnn Fabrics online had a half-off price sale on all of the Accuquilt Go! products about a month ago. Prior to that, Accuquilt did not allow retailers to advertise it for less than the suggested retail price.

http://www.shoppersrule.com can be a good deal, especially if you wait until they have free shipping (happens maybe twice a year). What you need to do there is submit a bid -- try starting at 40% of the price. They will either accept your bid or counter your bid. You might be able to buy it 50% off that way. Worth a try, anyway. If they come back too high, just wait a week or two and try again.

The dies last a long time so, once you have them, it isn't that spendy to keep using the system. It is the initial sticker shock that is so intimidating. Once you have the dies, you just have to get new mats once in awhile. (The mats last a long time too, but wear out eventually.)

I have never used the die that came with the Go! My suggestion is to buy 1 or 2 die sizes that are versatile for the quilts you like to make. A *lot* of people start with the 2.5-inch strip cutting die. If I am remembering correctly I was able t cut 6 strips at a time this way. If you want 2.5-inch squares, all you have to do is lay your strips crosswise and cut again.

I have gradually added to my dies during sales. Prior to Accuquilt's lifting of the low price advertising ban, it was still fairly easy to find dies and mats at 30% off listed price. Now it may be easier to find them for 40-50% off. I haven't checked eBay recently. That is another good place to look.

Join the accuquiltquilters group at http://groups.yahoo.com for a lot of information about the Go! Also check Youtube; there are some very good video demos there of different Go! applications. One shows how to cut out a log cabin quilt with it.

You might check your LQS. One here has the accuquilt that you can rent time on to try it out or just use. I have not tried it but seemed like that may be a good investment prior to spending that much money.

Bayside Quilting has sales on dies many times a year. I Have A Notion has great prices, and there are many other dealers of the Go dies that have great deals. You can find most of them at the yahoo.group. Here is a great video that shows what can be done with the dies. It's not just one die for one thing.
