Also notice that the black shadow does NOT go all the way to the edges of the floating square, to get the illusion of a shadow, you need to put that little bit of background on the corners.

finished! I will post more pictures later..have to get the backing and batting cut right now..

i took alot of pictures of the process, since i never made on like this before..will post them later too!

They look like they were cut 1 1/2". It really looks nice.

Love your quilt very neat effect!
Would this work if you had a drk bkg and used white as shadow then a light.
Would you still get this effect?
Any pic using white out there?

I love the shadow idea for a tee shirt quilt, they really look like they're floating.
