to the right and bottom of each one. how do you decide what size (width)strips to use for the shadow effect?
of course each block is a different size..but i would assume that the strips need to stay the same.

any ideas?

I'm not sure what you mean by shadows. Would it be attic windows, by any chance?

Watterstide, it looks like the black is smaller than two inches...maybe one inch finished and to get the same look, you measure the length or width, then replace the outside inch or two with a square/rectangle of the background fabric - this background square makes it look like the tshirt fabric/block is sitting above the background and creating a shadow. PM me if you have questions. If you look closely at the photo, you should see what I mean. The larger the square/rectangle of background fabric is, the higher the block seems to be off the background.

O-o-o-h. I like that look. It really sets off the blocks. Please post yours when it is finished.
