I am doing my first yoyo quilt and hope it come out right. Anyone have any good experience with this, it would help me a lot. I could use any advise from anyone. So far it is fun making the yo yo's. Of course, I don't know how many I need to make a lap quilt.

Hello, and welcome.

The only thing I will suggest is to be consistnt with your sizing for your yoyos. It will be easier to put them together if they are all the same size.

Also, use the same weight of fabric to make your yoyos.

Construct them well without volcanos in the middle, so they lay flat, and go forth!

Be sure to share your progress.

Love making yo-yo's. Sounds like you are well on your way! They are FUN!

The backing process can get interesting. My avatar is a wall hanging with no backing so the color of the wall comes through.

Thanks for your input. I like your quilt. I don't plan to put a backing on mine. I will start a lap quilt first since this is my first one.

I use the Clover yo=yo maker tool. It's WONDERFUL and super easy. I'd never make circles and fold and stitch the other way.

I bought one of those when they first came out - & then put it aside & did a million other projects. :( Time to get it out & start, reading this thread has got me psyched to use it!
