Default Mariners Compass Pattern anyone?

I am looking for a Mariners Compass Pattern. I would like to make a very large one. Does anyone have any ideas of where I might be able to get one? I have searched just about everywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

"Mariner's Compass Quilts: Setting a New Course" book by Judy Mathieson. She has a pattern for a 30" round compass with 64 points. Here is a quilt I made from that pattern. I didn't use her method, but the standard way of paper piecing. Amazon.com has it!

The pieced border is my design, not hers. I just took newsprint & drew 2 parallel lines 4" apart. I marked off 1" spaces on one long side, beginning at the end. I marked off 1'' spaces on the other long side, but started 1/2" in from the end. Connect the marks to get the spikes. The corners are just 4" squares that I eye-balled the spikes alternating from the center out.

Love Mariner's Compasses!

48" x 48" This medallion style Mariner’s Compass design has a 32 point star in the center of the quilt. The center compass is surrounded by larger points and pieced borders. This pattern provides instructions for a large wallhanging, single, or queen size bed quilt.

I just ordered a fusible interfacing that has the markings on it for the marineers compass - I haven't done it yet - but I am attempting it after Christmas - its called Quiltsmart printed interfacing - I saw a youtube video showing this method - it looked alot easier doing it this way - but like I said I haven't done it yet. Good luck and let me know if you do it and how it worked.

quilt smart has a good pattern pack for mariner's compass- you can get it in a number of sizes- goes together quickly-and very nicely.ive used it for a couple of them.

Quilt Pro is selling the last copies of their Mariner's Compass CD for less than $10 with shipping. Here is a link to it:

And here is a link that describes what is on this CD (volume 1):

I'm not sure how large you can go when printing out the pieces.

www.quilterscache.com all (or most) are paper pieced, if you have a pattern for a small one, you can always go to staples and they can make it larger for you. good luck.
