Hi everyone!

Was wondering if any of you subscribe to his magazine? What do you think about it?

VAnessa,

I don't subscribe but I usually pick up the latest copy. He is a little unusual but some of his articles are wonderful. There was one he did about having recognized quilt speakers for your group or guild. I was the program chair for two guilds. Some of the members just did not understand that people who are trying to make a living selling their expertise are also trying to be professional. You wouldn't ask your Professor to share a bathroom with your child and two dogs. I have booked lots of speakers and or teachers for both my guilds and they expect to be treated as professionals not just some lady who knows a little more about quilts than us. As a hand quilter for hire I belong to a Quilt Professional group. At their meetings they discuss and share ways to perform as professionals. When I book a speaker who comes from a distance I book them a hotel room and give them a meal stipend. All of this is on top of their fee and mileage. Some speakers have run the group as much as $800 but they were well worth every penny.
He also did an article about the "Quiltzillas". We all know people who think they know more and are better crafters than anyone else. They love to pick our work apart and make us feel like throwing in the needle. I like the magazine.

I love it. At the time I don't have subscriptions to any other magazine because I can only look at so many quilt that I will never make. His magazine has articles that can be read and applicable to things we all go through. He is a very good speaker and he writes the same way he speaks and I have to listen (or read). It is a little on the expensive side, but it is worth every penny.

You may want to check your local library. I can borrow of that magazine and a lot of others from my local library system which is great coz it leaves me more money for fabric :D

I read the magazine the first time because my friend Jean was quoted in an article by Jake Finch. I was only about 1/2-way through the magazine when I went online & subscribed! Mark is funny & eccentric & I read each one from cover to cover.

I don't subscribe, but have bought a couple issues. I really like it. I think he's funny and adds humor to things other magazines take too seriously. I am thinking about subscribing. The article about Quiltzillas was really funny.

Yes, I like it too! I buy off the stands here and watch for it always. I like anyone that thinks out of the box and doesn't tip toe around topics and covers it all like it is:)). It brings the love back into the art when we can sit back and chuckle over some of the very things we have thought about and hopefully some that we don't do:0)Great color-great topics...I'd give him 4 out of 5 thumbs up...he'd get the 5 if we could get some more fun projects out of him:))Skeat

Yes, I get this magazine and really enjoy it...then I take it with me 'quilting' and everyone in my group reads it. There are just about 15 of us - we meet once a week, quilt, eat and try to solve the world's problems [at least our little corner of the world].
I read a very bad review of it when I first started getting it...BUT I never could and still don't see where she was coming from with her remarks! It's a fun read, full of lideas and useful information!
