Default Five Point Star Pattern

Is there any way to piece a five point star block? I need a pattern for one, preferably 6 or 8 inches. I don't want to do a paper pieced version and prefer not to applique one. I've searched and cannot find a pattern for one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

I found this link. It may be helpful but looks complicated.

Scroll down a bit.

Here is a free paper pieced one you can download.

Oops after reading I see you don't want PP but you can use this pattern to cut templates.

I'm pretty sure I saw one or more in Quilts with Style, but it would have been paper pieced.

Found these that are not paper-pieced. Although a little funky, I would think they would work if done symmetrically as well:

There is a ruler that will cut 5-point stars. It's called the Jewel Box Gemstar Companion by Philips Fiber Art. It will make 5 sizes of stars. Check for a source on Google. Maybe one of your local quilt shops carries it.

Actually, you can buy directly from Philips Fiber Art. I have purchased several of their rulers and it is a great company to deal with. While you are at the Philips Fiber Art website, check out their videos on how to use their rulers. Or you can go to YouTube, enter Philips fiber Art and watch their videos on their products.
