I just tried my first little twister block. So much fun! I want to make a baby quilt for our church charity. How do you figure the new size of the quilt. For example, if I sewed 15 by 15 5 inch blocks together and made it into a twister, is that big enough? Thanks for the help.

The twister tool that you use with 5" blocks is 3.5", which will finish at 3". You position the tool on a seam, so 15 blocks across would be 14 seams, or 14 twister blocks. 14 X 3" = 42"

Don't forget to sew your borders (which are your background strips) onto your squares before you start cutting.

I sew 5" blocks together, 6 rows acrossed and 6 rows down, thus 36 - 5" sqs. ... I add a 3" border around. After *twisting* the piece comes out 21" X 21".
