I would save them in a special box. I am also an oil painter. If you have interest in designing and making art quilts, these tiny scraps are just like the last dab of paint to complete a painting. Something you would never make a trip to a store to get. There's a use for just about anything these days. The key is to have an idea, and follow through with it. You can use your quilt color experience to make a beautiful fabric "painting."

I see you're in Texas - go for it, girl! That's just me - I recycle glass jars to hold leftovers in the refrigerator too!

That would be to small for me. But I've heard of quilters saving the really small scraps to make dog pillows. Its really up to you.

Trash to me. If I saved them I know I'd never use them.

I have to admit I would say trash also. Will attach 2 pics of what I do with my small pieces and some of them are quite little. When I square up a side, sometimes the pieces get cut off so they were bigger to begn with but looks like I used tiny pieces when I didn't start out that way.

They would be trash to me, but I have seen paper piecing patterns that use tiny scraps like that. I had a friend give me a bookmark shaped like a Christmas stocking with a snowman on it, and it had some extremely tiny pieces. Think of a carrot nose!

Do you like doing art style projects [like putting small pieces under tulle or such and sewing over it all for a specific collage effect] or using the Snippets technique? If you do then save them.

The smaller pieces I don't save I collect in a plastic bag and then give them to someone who makes pet beds for the Humane Society. My local Humane Society even has it's own sew/quilt group.

I don't use them but save them for a person that does cats and dogs' beds. For that I even save the threads I cut when sawing.
