Last week I submitted something funny to Readers digest.
If they choose to print it they will pay me $100 which I will spend on Fabric.
Years ago I was a mail carrier in a very small town in Eastern Oklahoma.
It was very hot & humid there, especially after a good rain.
Everyone knew everyone else and it didn’t bother me to turn on someone’s water hose laying in the yard to quench my thirst.
On one particular such day as I approached a yard I could see the water hose already running in the grass as the woman worked across the yard in her flower bed.
I asked if I could get a drink of water and of course she answered “yes” and began struggling to get off of her knees. Not wasting any time I picked up the hose and began to drink. The woman immediately yelled for me to stop drinking the water.
As it turned out, the woman was pumping out her cellar.
