Default Measurements for 2 in star.

I'm hope to make a two inch star for corner stones in the sashing. Can someone give me the measurements for a 2 inch star. I attached my example which I did not make. I found measurements for 3 inches and up.
Thank you.

Think of the star as a 16 patch, so 4 squares across & 4 down.
Each square will finish at 1/2" (gulp). So the 4 white corners will be cut at 1" square, the center red 1.5" square and the flying geese white rectangle 1 X 1.5, with 1" red squares for the flippy corners. the smallest I've gone was 3" and I wound up paper piecing the geese. I also used them for cornerstones. I would suggest heavy starch before cutting.

You may need to make your points float. The center and points finish at 1/2 inch with the points floating on 3/4 X 1/2 finished background

Also, make sure that you are sewing an exact 1/4" seam:

Have you thought about making the points in the sashing instead? Then the center of your star would be the cornerstone--2 inches square--and you could make the points like flying geese on both ends of each piece of sashing. They would be a bit bigger but you would not have to worry about all those points.

For cornerstones on sashing.....that whole star is 2"? Or are you saying. 2" center and points would be part of the sashing that joins that 2" square? Much easier and more visual that way.....

gngerK beat me with the same idea

I just looking at the comments for answers. I would try using a graph paper, though that might help.
