Men's shirts make fantastic quilts especially as a remembrance quilt when a dh is missing. Afraid I'm not a scrap quilter but to have something that reminds me so much of a loved one and can snuggle in is great. The no iron is to take out of drier damp and shake and hang it does reduce wrinkles. My father who was highly independent always bought them.

I haven't read any of Bonnie Hunter's books, but I have made quilts using clothes. There is a quilt store that sells clothes by the pound. The rag quilt was made with Ralph Lauren, Hilfiger, and a couple of other names. It seems that their flannel was better than what I could find around here. Also mens XL plus shirts yield a lot of fabric.

There is a way to get ink out.. Oxyclean.. or better still.. The dollar store generic one.. I wear scrubs, and I'm forever getting ink on them. I take the Oxyclean, hot water, and let the piece sit. I come back, and the ink is gone.
